Filled Under: Daily Banter

So, the last time we saw the King, he and his wife were raising their 2 kids in Queens and his father-in-law was moving back in. We all thought that was the end of his wild adventures, but like countless other television series like “Car 57 Where You At?” and “The Beverly Hillylbullies”, the King was to have more wacky trials and tribulations on the silver screen.

I was selected for a sneak peek of the new K of Q: The Movie and it was awesome! While doing his daily routine and delivering packages, the King accidentally observes a senator’s son named Bunky Perkins brutally clubbing baby seals and stinky transients and he must go into witness protection. But there’s opportunity in every crisis and he knows it. This grants the King the opportunity to finally leave his awful wife, ungrateful kids, and annoying father-in-law and go underground.

Now this is when the story really picks up. The King assumes the new identity of a bounty hunter in Los Angeles (LA, as it’s known). He works job after job until he accepts a quick run to bring in Charles Grodin from NYC (New York City). Trust you me, hilarity ensues. We are treated to a series of wacky mishaps and adventures across the country (United States of America). He lets Charles Grodin go at the end and we all learn a valuable lesson about life and money.

Next, the King is living like a normal schnook in NJ where he grows a ‘stach (Reynolds-style) and accepts a job as a mall cop. He’s given a new identity, but somehow trouble just keeps finding him. After wiping out the King’s family, Bunky Perkins has tracked him down. He wants revenge and takes the entire mall hostage. Memorable lines are a-plenty and a climatic showdown atop the mall’s Niagara Falls replica occurs.

You can imagine my shock a few months later when the final cut of the movie came out. They had completely retooled the entire film and it was barely a shell of the feature I had grown in love with. We’ll have to wait for the director’s cut…

However, even with the retooling, “Milk” is still worth seeing.

4 outta 5 stars
